Raising kids is valuable, meaningful, revelatory, life-changing work. It can also be challenging, lonely, hard, and heartbreaking work. The good news is that we don't have to do it alone. In fact, we CAN'T do it alone! Join others engaged in the work of caring for and about children--of any age--for a time for mutual support, encouragement, and learning. We'll meet via Zoom on the first and third Sunday of each month at 7:30PM for 60-90 minutes (according to the energy and needs of the group.)
The general structure of our meetings is:
Welcome & Introductions ~30-40 minutes of "check-in" and sharing in large group and/or smaller "breakout rooms" ~30-40 minutes of discussion based on a topic or reading of interest Final Blessing
During the 2020-2021 Program Year our discussions will be inspired by 2 books: 1) Parenting as a Spiritual Journey by Rabbi Nancy Fuchs-Kreimer (1st Sundays) 2) Raising White Kids: Bring up Children in a Racially Unjust America by Jennifer Harvey (3rd Sundays)
All members and friends of St. Mark's Montessori School and St. Mark's Church communities--parents, teachers, grandparents, godparents, and all who share in the important and holy work of raising kids-- are welcome to participate.
