JUNTOS

JUNTOS (Together)

Every 4th Sunday at 6PM
St. Mark's Episcopal Church
432 Richmond Pl. NE
In the Stoney Chapel or Garden
(enter from East Parking lot, off Richmond)

Who are we?

JUNTOS we are an emerging Eucharistic small group, gathering for spiritual practice and exploration,
in the Spirit of Christ, the Love who binds together polarities.

We welcome you to join in as we seek, wonder, experiment, discover, and grow JUNTOS!

What are we doing?

~ 6PM…JUNTOS we ARRIVE. With drumming and song we come home to our place of deep rootedness in our bodies, in the gathered community and in the creation.

~6:20PM…JUNTOS we LISTEN.  We listen for the Word of Life that God is speaking to us in scripture, in silence, in creation, and in community.

~6:45PM…JUNTOS we PRAY.  In prayer we commend the deepest longings of our hearts and of our world to the heart of God, who is love.

~7PM…JUNTOS we SHARE. We share God’s peace, we share God’s gifts, we share God’s life in bread and wine.

~7:15PM…JUNTOS we ARE BLESSED to GO FORTH.  We receive God’s blessing to go out into the world and faithfully travel our path on this earth.

What are we singing?

Behold, an Ancient Voice is Calling Us
Behold, behold, an Ancient voice is calling us
Behold, Behold, all over the skies
an ancient voice is calling us

Hope is deeper than despair
Hope is deeper than despair
Thanks be to you, O God!
Hope is deeper
Thanks be to God!

What to know:

We usually sing
  • 1 or more GATHERING SONGS as we gather and prepare for worship
  • 1 LISTENING SONG to prepare for the Scripture reading
  • 1 PRAYER SONG to prepare for the Prayers of the People
  • THE CASA DEL SOL PRAYER OF JESUS (OR ANOTHER SUNG LORD’S PRAYER)
  • 1 PEACE SONG to sing as we share Peace with one another
  • 1 OFFERING OR THANKSGIVING SONG as we pass the basket for the collection
  • 1 COMMUNION SONG as we share communion
  • 1 CLOSING SONG after communion, before our final blessing/sending

We try to teach songs that are easy for everyone to learn and sing without having to read words or music.  While we often sing acapella,  instrumental musical offerings are also welcome!

Would you like to offer a reading (in English or another language) or interpretation (Poetry? Dance? Dramatic? Musical?) of the Gospel?
